A Glimpse Into the Future

So I just recently started watching a new TV show on ABC called FlashForward.  I had seen the trailers for it before it started airing and had fully intended on watching it but for some reason I didn’t start when it came on.  Actually, I didn’t started til about 5 episodes in.  I am so glad I started watching it because it has become one of my favorite shows.  The premise of the show is one that I have thought about many times. What if the entire world was given a glimpse of their future?  It would totally change the way people lived.  Those that have good visions will live for that day almost sitting back because they know that, in the future, things will work out.  The ones with the bad visions or no visions at all (because they were dead in the future) will also live for that day but will do everything they can to keep that day from happening the way they saw.  However, the show often begs the question, can one change his own future?  If he saw it, does it mean its already set? People can ruin their present lives by trying to live for something that hasn’t even happened yet.  They can end up driving the ones they love away and which could be what caused the future they saw.  This begs another question, one that hurts a little to think about, was the future they saw brought on by the visions or would it have happened that way if they wouldn’t have had them and if  they were brought on by the visions, wouldn’t you want to try your hardest not to focus on the visions?

I am finally caught up on the show and am excited for Thursday’s episode!
